72 hour kits

Suppose you have a year of food storage.  A disaster strikes and you must leave the area immediately.  You can’t grab all of your food storage.  In this case, you should have a 72 hour kit to survive on.  Imagine that you have five minutes to leave your home.  Whatever you might need should be altogether in one place ready to go.  This is where the 72 hour kit should come in.

A kit should have the following:

1. Food and water for three days (no cooking required)
2. One Change of Clothing
3. Blankets or Sleeping Bags
4. Plastic Sheet or Groundcloth
5. Flashlight With Extra Batteries
6. Food Utensils (if needed)
7. Flashlight (with extra batteries)
8. Money, Credit Card, Phone Card
9. Personal Documents (Books, Insurance, Hard to Replace Personal Items).

10- First aid kit with soap and cleaning supplies.
11- A portable battery powered radio is essential to find out what is going on .
