Food dehydrator recipes

Beef Jerky
The easiest way to make jerky is with Mr. Yoshidas (available at Costco).  It is a marinade sauce that tastes similar to Teriyaki.

Place one pound of meat with ½ cup of Mr. Yoshidas sauce and marinate for 24-48 hours.

Then place meat in dehydrator for 4-8 hours.

Mr. Yoshidas Honey Orange Teriyaki Chicken
This recipe is right off the bottle.  You need the following:
1 cup Mr. Yoshidas
1 cup Orange Juice – Premium, Not from concentrate (or juice from three oranges)
6 tablespoons honey
1.5 lbs. chicken – breast, sliced or chicken tenders
¼ cup slivered almonds (optional)
Mix it all up.  Marinate meat for 10 minutes.
Top with toasted almonds (optional).

This recipe can obviously be used as a jerky marinade.

Hot Salsa Jerky

One of the best salsas is Jacks from Costco.  It is in the refrigerated area.

Place meat in salsa and let it marinate for 24-48 hours.  Then cook it in dehydrator for 4-8 hours.

Fruit Leather

Remember to use a blender.  You simply take the fruit you like and blend it into a puree. Then put it in the dehydrator for 4-8 hours.  You can add sugar to get it sweeter or add various fruits to get different flavors.  Strawberry and Raspberry are the most popular.
