Long Term Food Storage

The LDS Church used to say that 2 years should the amount of food stored.  Today, they have lessened the requirement to one year.  However, most people don’t have enough food to last more than a few weeks.  What people don’t realize is that store shelves will be depleted in a few hours in a crisis.

Longer term food storage is for more than just natural disasters.  Job loss or family hardships can make the food storage very valuable.

The often overlooked item is water.  If water lines are disrupted in a crisis, you will need water to drink.  You can buy large water barrels for your garage or just fill up a bunch of two liter bottles.
