Eating The Best Foods: What To Eat
Omega 3
Omega 3 oils are deficient in most western diets. Naturally raised animals
and food products have more omega 3 oil than current commercial inorganic
practices. Sources of omega 3 are fish (deep cold water fish is best),
flax seed, and walnut. We recommend a handful of walnuts every day or
supplements.
Leafy Greens
Greens are fibrous and nutritious. A typical healthy dinner should begin
with a salad with dark leafy greens as the first course. Second, you will
eat meats, carbohydrates, and other vegetables. Last, for desert you have
some fresh fruit. This is the healthiest way to course a meal. It helps
you eat items in the right proportions.
Vegetables
Vegetables are proven to reduce the risk of vitually every disease.
Vegetables are low in calorie and high in nutrition. Vegetables that are
fresh or "alive" produce the greatest benefit. Sprouts, especially
broccoli, are the "king" of live vegetable nutrients. The surgeon
general recommends five servings of fruits and vegetables a day.
Fruits
Fruit has more sugar than vegetables and can give us a boost
of energy. Fruit is a great item to use as a snack. If you stop eating
man made sugar, you will start to crave the sweetness of fruit. Without
eating sugar, you will be able to smell natural food a lot better. You
will be able to smell the sweetness of fruit before you eat it. The surgeon
general recommends five servings of fruits and vegetables a day.
Meat
Red meat should be limited to less than one time per week. Wild
fish is the best source of meat. Some health experts think we should eat
meat twice a week to avoid high levels of mercury now contained in the
oceans from chemical dumping. Any animal that is raised naturally will
be healthier for you to eat. What you put into an animal is what you get
out of it. Commercial farms raise meat that looks great, but with the
lowest possible cost of the food being put into the animals. Natural raised
products cost a little more, but are much healthier. Look for grass fed
and organically raised animals.
Water and Fiber
Most people don't get enough of either. An adult should get 25-30 grams
of fiber a day. An adult male should drink, on average, 3 liters of water
per day. An adult female should drink, on average, 2.2 liters of water
per day. Deficiency of water and fiber create heart disease, cancer, and
a lot of other health problems.
